Re: A little advice?

By the sounds of it you are quite into your metal like me. Over the last year or so I've REALLY been getting into Drum n Bass/Jungle drumming and funk. My metal and rock playing is so much more...

Re: Beginner: 2 up 1 down or 1 up 1 down?

To be honest its all personal preference. When I first started playing drums I used to take 1 rack tom off my kit depending on if I felt like playing a 4 piece or a 5 piece. I still swap between 4,...

Re: Break it down

Unless theres another band on straight after I'll actually hold fire on breaking down the kit.

Usually I get friends down to our gigs who come and speak to me afterwards about my playing/kit,...

Re: What makes a great drummer?

A good drummer is one who has good technical ability, the ability to play for the song and a decent attitude.

In my eyes a GREAT drummer is someone who possess the above and also absolutely adore...

Re: help with a Sonor re-finish!

To be honest I'm no expert by any means with this and someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I have noticed a couple of kits on the forums that have been refinished simply by using a big sticker...

Re: If I don't start learning drums again I'm going to go crazy

Whilst playing an electric kit can never imitate having the real thing, they are a very good learning tool.

At the end of the day you are 16 years old, maybe in a few years time you'll be in a...

I have an extremely long commute to work so I'm out of the house at 6.30am and am very rarely back before 7.30pm but after I've had dinner and whatnot, I try and fit in around 40 minutes to an hour...

Re: New Kit help

+1 on buying used if possible you could probably get something like a Pearl Masters, Mapex Saturn, Gretsch New Classic, Tama Starclassic Performer or similar for the higher end of your budget.

Re: Whats your own favorite drum sound?

+1 on UTDrummers heart warming story!

Personally my favourite kit sound is a toss up between my Mapex Saturn bass drum (soooo punchy) and my 14" AAX Stage Hats

Re: sorry but i have to, BIG DRUM KITS

At the end of the day its down to personal preference, space and at the end of the day...how serious you are about drums.

My practice kit is a 7 piece with 11 cymbals, my gigging kit is a 7 piece...
