Re: The New Breed of "Metal Drummers"

Hear hear, Gavin Harrison is still one of the leading lights in this kind of stuff. I guarantee most metal drummers worth their salt have delved into his playing

Re: Tips for Giving Drum Lessons

I would say run through proper safety equipment, including footwear and headwear. If the children show good aptitude early you could move onto welding technique and how to hold a blowtorch...

Re: So and so is a good drummer, but...

Re: Report from the dark side ;)

The trick to this is buying a beast of a snare drum that cuts through anything whether the PA is massive or not. I've had numerous sound engineers astounded that they didn't need to mic my snare and...

Problems with space and time

My surname is Kirk, but sadly I am no Captain!

I found the thread about keeping time on the hi-hat interesting. The OP had difficulty when playing 8th notes on the hi-hat.

I have the complete...

Re: playing along with stuff

I have the same problem with my cd player rattling about and skipping haha. Maybe I should graduate to mp3s?

Plus you get the added benefit of learning how to play drum parts note for note,...

Re: Buddy Rich trap case

What a great story Tony. I particularly like the ethos of your friend, passing it on to a good home, someone who will treasure it and appreciate it.

Out of interest exactly how do you get...

Re: Recording technique

Unfortunately then the poor other musicians have to effectively learn the tempo fluctuations in the song. Which means that they have to be really on it if its all over the place!

Re: Midi-Sheet Music I need your help!

Thanks a lot mate, this is much appreciated. I've pm'd you too :)

Re: Really wanky behaviour....

Thing is this is exactly how the UK gig circuit works. There are barely any venues that pay and promote the gigs themselves without all these kind of shenanigans and hoops for the band to jump...

From a creative perspective, being able to play...
