Re: Billy Ward here!

Billy delighted to hear you are back and working. And a special word of thanks, as I mentioned in another thread, for the setting up the drums tips in your DVD, which really helped sort out some...

Re: Non musicians opinion about musicians

As someone who has a day job, but has gigged regularly on drums and bass for a couple of decades, I have seldom found any negative reactions to being a musician, but that may be because I am not...

Re: I keep smacking my hand...

Yes, agree with deathmetal conga and sick rickand about the importance of positioning. I recommend Billy Ward's DVDs, in one of which (I think Big TIme, but both are great and worth having) he has a...

Re: My gig rig

Larry, I think that DW colour is gorgeous (and a back section to die for... lucky man). It's good to hear the positive feedback on the DW sound. I have recently ordered a DW set in Black Velvet...

Re: Cream's Ginger Baker trashes legends in Classic Rock Magazine, Issue #142, March

Thanks Polly and Chip. Yes - the "what if's?" - Hendrix without Mitch, Cream without Ginger, the Stones without Charlie - just wouldn't have been the same.

For me, their experience just...

Re: Cream's Ginger Baker trashes legends in Classic Rock Magazine, Issue #142, March

Just read Jack Bruce's very interesting biography (and am waiting for GB's to come from Amazon). No, GB was never my favourite drummer of that era, Mitch Mitchell was. However, watching the Cream...

Re: Phil Rudd

Until I joined a band that covered some ACDC, I never realised how hard it was to play their music well. The Young bros. have a genius for writing three chord rock songs that work because all of the...

Re: Billy Ward here!

Deepest condolences from a fan.

Just received the Voices package. I love the album and Voices is one of the great instructional DVDs. You bring so much character and entertainment and love to...

Re: DW Black Hardware

Thanks to all who responded, including useful PMs from Solaris and Gango, who reported positively on the sturdiness of their gold hardware. Cheers, David

Re: DW Black Hardware

Hi Jay - Correct thanks - DW also just confirmed to me 10% upcharge for anything other than standard chrome. Unless you're getting an exotic finish - in which case they throw in the hardware of your...

Re: DW Black Hardware

I agree - stands would be too much. I was thinking of rims and lugs. As noted, my bass gold and black chrome hardware is very sturdy - but then I'm not doing rim shots on my bass! :) D

Re: DW Black Hardware

Further to this thread, does anyone have experience of DW's other finishes - gold, satin chrome etc? I have a DW snare and am planning to buy a DW shell kit. I'm also a bass player and have...
