I was very in...

Re: Growing older as a drummer.........

I'm quite younger (38) but just yesterday I was remastering a cover I played with my death metal band 20 years ago.

Re: Cheap vs expensive kits

guitar is quite different. because is not only a sound that changes but there are factors like the neck width and deep, scale (far/near frets) and bridge height.

Re: Cheap vs expensive kits

what I learned in 20+ years of drums:

- cheap drums can sound good or bad...randomly. expensive generally doesn't, have a "minimum standard".

same cheap drums, same finishes, same series..some...

Re: I have a theory

the Super Mario one is stunning! :D

on the topic: industrial processes and marketing made very really easy to give customizations and evolution in that instruments is quite ended, as for violins....

is generally a thing everyone can do? nope.
is generally a good thing? no, depends on genre and own...

Re: Tune Bot - Worthwhile or Not?

not so sure of the utility for a simple reason: I always feel that drum tuning/tension varies a lot with the stage/room I play my drums on. A more resonating tom may have to be corrected in a roomy...

Surely playing traditionally can be easier for a lot of fills and so on.
I think your...

Always interested in music, but the drums as "mere instrument" never striked me listening to a record...
