I grew up on this book. It is cool. Just relax in the groove and count. Your cymbal or HH hand can do many different things. Use a metronome. Great book!!

You are correct. But he did play the kit a couple of times and also played the kit at a gig (in Hawaii I think) on the show with the Beach Boys. I am pretty sure that is right.

I don't like a clear head on the snare at all. But, try it out, tune it high and low and check it out.
