Re: Good quality mid-range snares?

I thought Supras had nine lugs????? When they're not across from each other I always get lost while tuning and counting to nine.....or ten:-)

Re: Good quality mid-range snares?

Holy Cow! Talk about serving up a softball. You want a Supra but only cheaper.
Easy as pie. ACROLITE! DONE!

Same aluminum spun shell with one less lug. $100 used. Hold out for one in excellent...

Re: StarClassic 100% birch

Was the Starclassic birch the performer series before the bubinga birch?

I would do it if they were in acceptable condition but I certainly would not offer anyone a grand plus a birch kit for a...

Re: Pearl Masters to DW Collectors?

If it's rounder and warmer that you want in a DW kit, I would be looking at the Classics or maple/mahogany. Regular maple collectors might not be that much different to what you have now.

I am excited to hear Chamberlain with Soundgarden, and I love Cameron's playing.

Modern Ludwig rail consolette hole pattern.

Does anyone know if the newer (not the newest Atlas) style Ludwig rail consolette has the same hole pattern as the old 60's style? I think I would rather have a newer one.

Re: How to pull it off on the bandstand for jazz drummers please

I'm sorry Martin but I don't really understand your question. I am interpreting these exercises as a way to accent phrases with the right hand using various diddles. I would practice them as written...

Re: DW Collector's or Not?

That is the correct badge for Collectors of that period. The Keller shells have a straight seam at the joint and the DW shells have a jagged seam.

Re: How to pull it off on the bandstand for jazz drummers please

Very nice Alex! Great feel and some really nice fours going on. So if I understand you correct, some of these fills you have been practicing and are consciously trying them out on the bandstand?

I...

Re: Entry Level Jazz

I'm a big fan of play alongs and Ed Soph's Musical Time book/cd is a very good one. It starts out with very basic comping and progressively gets more complicated. The play along tracks are top notch...

Re: Terry Bozzio

If anyone subscribes to drum channel, there are some videos of Terry playing small kits as well as various odd set ups. This idea that he can't play a small kit is absurd.

Out of all of the...

Re: Attractive male drummers

Jim Gaffigan put it best when talking about female lead singers. " She's not that atrractive, she must be REALLY talented."

Re: Drum help

I say it depends on weather or not you have decent cymbals. You can make the Swingstar sound good with new heads and fixing up the hardware but there is nothing you can do about cheap cymbals. If you...

Re: How to practice counting off?

Great suggestions so far.
It's also a good idea to subdivide in your head while counting off as well as during the song for a nice solid start.

Re: Ludwig Standards restored (aka the Blue Meanie lives!)

Looks like you are using the new Atlas tom mount for the rack. Does it need a special lug?
