BM is made to be a cheaper replacement for the BB. The problem is, its not that much cheaper. It sounds OK, but if your desire is the BB, its far from a substitute IMO.

My pearl reference brass 14x6.5 is in the 25-30 lb range. The bell brass warlord is noticeably heavier than the reference. Add a DW9000 snare stand on it and you've got yourself close to 50 lbs

I definitely like the lugs better on the nouveau's and like die cast rims over the triple flanged so I think I'll stick with the Absolutes. Now it all comes down...

Rimshots often kill the deepness of a snare. I play rimshots as well and had the same problem. a LOT of it has to do with your mixing. You can do so much with the EQ on the mix but the biggest thing...

I decided on maple. Its going to be a live/touring kit and I like the way maple cuts better.
