Re: Where's Magenta?

Hmmm? I must be having a Brain fart. Maybe it's just an aneurysm. I could swear I haven't seen anything from her for more than a month.

Where's Magenta?

I don't mean to be prying or sound stupid, but for some reason Madge came to mind today and I realized I haven't heard from her in a while?

Anyone know what's up?

Re: Ludwig Acrolite Fan Post

Ugly step sister!?! Them's fightin' words.

No, seriously, I really dig my Acrolite (which isn't ugly)... but I love my Supra more!

Re: Unanswered Threads

Bonzo would have definitely used a much bigger and more powerful weapon.

Think .50 caliber.

Oorah!!

Re: Drum Size Question

I get what you're saying about the standard depths - or lack the of.

My toms are 10x8 & 12x9. My 12" tom is sweet with it's 9" depth. I couldn't imagine it being 7.5" or 8" like I see on other...

Re: New Pearl Session Studio w/24" bass drum and 4 toms - $699 Clearance

Wow, If I had the extra cash, I would be very tempted as well.

I need another set so I can stop lugging my drums around.

Re: extreme tom angles and snare tilt

With the snare that low, my mind went straight to "big-time back problems."

Re: The Bo Eder Pearl Vision Signature kit ;)

I think that one of the points here is that if people are looking at you/the kit, they may not be hearing you play. Kind of like this kit would be a great disguise for a bad drummer.

Hey, maybe...

I read this thread, but didn't find it interesting.

So why am I replying? Dang it!

Re: something about this just doesn't seem right

I was at Walmart yesterday to get dog food, shaving cream, batteries, and an air filter for my truck and saw a DW Performance series kit on an end-cap display. I figured what the hell, and picked...

Re: Is it OK to talk about the movie "Whiplash" yet?

I just saw the movie today with my wife and we enjoyed it very much. Yes, some of the dramatic stuff was over the top (bleeding hands, car crash, playing for 5 hours to achieve 400 bpm, teaching...

Re: New from NAMM

Please excuse me. Man you're finicky. It's just a friendly conversation.

By the way, if you include sales tax the prices DOES get closer to $500.00.

And before you say it, I don't buy cymbals...

70% of those rides shown in the link were over $400.00.

Re: Ever look back at videos of yourself playing and cringe?

Give a little nut shake!

BTW, on video, I look like a dork. For some reason, my wife thinks I'm cute.

Re: New from NAMM

Real pretty! $3400.00 though - and that's for the 4 piece without the 18" floor tom (as pictured).

The Sabian rides are beautiful, but too rich for my blood. Upwards of $500.00 a pop.

Ah, if...

Re: Gretsch difference

Hey, they're Gretsch, need I say more?

Save the extra $300 and go for the Renowns. Apply the difference to a new cymbal.

- Cheers!

Re: More on tom angles ;)

A weirdo that buys a rack with no holes for the Pearl tom mounts. That's who!

This would be the perfect kit to play for a drummer with hemorrhoids.

I couldn't manage another band situation if my life depended on it... well maybe if my life depended on it but in reality, no way!

Thanks for the kind thoughts, Larry.

My Band Frustrations

Hi everybody, I would like to seek advice and words of wisdom from those of you in the know. I will try my best not to ramble. :-)

Over the course of last summer I spent a lot of time looking...

Re: Special NAMM guest - Uncle Larry!

Even if Continental Drift could be sped up, there's no way that the British Isles will ever come close to California. ;-)

Well, maybe in 2.5 billion years... with a lot of luck.
