Re: Pearl VBX VS Ludwig Epic Funk

Ludwig.....Epics....

I like Pearl VBX's as well, really well made drums but if you want more tone then the ludwigs are your call.

I'm totally biased towards the Ludwigs cause i love Ludwigs....

Re: Versitale Kick Size

I love my 20X20 kik.

Tunes low and high.

I can bag it out and play hard rock or metal. Get a nice funk tone out of it by throwing in a small blanket. Or I can tune it up and get a good round...

I'm not going to be of any help but will say something.

The whole point of Jazz was to be different. Break down barriers. Try different sounds. Change minds on music.

Like every other genre...

Re: When do re-rings need to be added?

RobertM

What re-rings do is raise the pitch of the drum slightly, add attack, and give more surface area for the head to sit on.

This makes it easier to pick a tone for a drum as you can pick...

Re: Best Wood Snares?!?!???

Hey Stvst29

I also play in a church and know exactly what you mean. The Dennis Chambers signature is a great snare! Great tuning range, nice crack (but not too over the top), and just a great all...

Re: Ludwig Classic Maple?

The best way to hear how amazing these drums are, is to find a shop with them, tune up a tom and hit it. They are totally killer drums! I'm a huge ludwig fan and own a kit of my own (a 60's keystone...

Re: keller shells!

I have a 20X20 and it sounds amazing!

Its the only square kik that I'll play. I use an emad coated/emad or EQ3 resonant and just a very very small blanket in it. The single ply head combined with...

I 100% agree Toza!!

I know monster death metal drummers that are insanely fast and technical and can do some crazy stuff. But they can't play Rosanna to save their lives. There's a lot of drummers...

Re: Gretsch - Sonor - Ludwig : which is the fattest groove kit?
