Re: Rock Band Drummers (fake drummers)

You don't have to mod the kit, as far as I know. A couple guys did it on the Meshuggah forum.

Re: What Band influences you the Most?

I could have sworn I posted in this thread. Oh well. Probably Meshuggah. Haake is way more advanced than me, but it pushes me to try different stuff.

Re: Left foot clave is soooo last year...

I'm very surprised at the amount of hate on this video. Its damn cool. Whether or not its musical, or even ever usable, can be questioned, but its unquestionably impressive. If the guy can do this,...

Re: Got fired again...help...

I'll give you the most honest opinion in this thread. Get those lights off your drums, they distract from your tight and fun playing.

Re: Drumset Room

Not trying to be an ass, but your hats should take precedent positioning over a fourth tom and even your double pedal in most cases. Other than that, go crazy

Maybe I'm an elitist

Re: Shoes Advice

I bet you play either hardcore or emopoppunk ;)

I play in whatever I'm wearing. After a few minutes, you muscles should adjust enough

Re: Help! Metal Drumming. Challenge Wanted.

Blast at 300 bpm, that's the most impressive thing you could ever do

*hopes they get that I'm kidding*

Re: Odd Time Signature Thread

Weird time sigs are fun

Even more fun are beats in weird timings that resolve to 4

Re: something i learned instantly

I'm not too sure that is a 7:4 polyrythym, but if it sounds cool, go for it

Re: pro drummers with bad technique

Well yes and no. Portnoy doesn't have the greatest technique and I believe I have heard that he has had hand problems. That is something the apparent standard bearer of a genre should not be passing...

You are a fantastic peace keeper, I just figured if no one was going to call him on that, I should. Back to order in Drummerworld

Re: Ludwig Makeover!

It came out very nice. I think I may have to attempt something like this in the near future. I'll do it with a spare tom I have with a crappy wrap on it and see how it works out. Did the wrap come...

Re: Am I the only one...

Sometimes when I'm drumming or just thinking in general, I imagine a day where I can stumble upon a kit in the middle of somewhere where a lot of people are just walking around. I want to sit down at...

Re: What do you think about Music123 ?

So basically, what I'm getting from this thread is that this time next year, Guitar Center will own the world?

That's unfortunate

Re: The "flat surface test": Help me solve a tuning mystery

I know this probably isn't the response you are looking for, but if the drums sound great and the tuning isn't doing any irreparable damage to any of the hoops or shells, leave it. Or you could tune...

Re: Terry Bozzio drum pic

I count 21 toms there. If you want to remember the pitch of everything and play it as well as he does, go ahead and try. I'm sure by now, he could even do without them. They are probably there for...

Re: Terry Bozzio drum pic

Haha, I love his kit. I'd never dream of trying to do what he does, but he is impressive. Watch the duet of him and Chad Wackerman on the Drummerworld main site. Ridiculously awesome and impressive....

Re: Strange Drum Habits

I do the "logos on top" and "nothing in my pockets" things. I also stare to the sides sometimes too. I also noticed when I play a 3:2 polyrythym beat I like to play, I always look down. I don't...
