Re: has there ever been a snare made of silver?

There was a drum shell made from lead crystal, I saw them on line.
Forget the name of the company.
Said he never had a shell break.
Wild.

My Spirit of 2002 is one cool snare.

Re: Do you know anyone else who plays the way I do?

Exactly so I like to play open, and also lead with the left hand, but also other times play crossed and lead with the right. If I am playing Ringo, lead left. If I playing other styles, it depends. I...

Re: Open-Handed Article

I think the other concept here is the tradional cyclic swing mechanics.
Traditional grip, circular groove ala Freddy Gruber, would never be in the mindzone of the mirror. However I find facilitation...

My Mirror Kit
Double Ride (20 inch and 22 inch), Double Hats, Left and Right.
I play wide open....using double ride patterns from both sides, or double hihat patterns from both sides, or the...

Re: Neil Peart

So true....so true. I actually play a lot of Rush. It makes you think, therefore the "stern" look. Its actually deep concentration and Zen at the same time. Being in the moment so deep that...

Re: Good Drummer, Bad Teacher?

I teach post graduate soft tissue therapy.
I am a terrible teacher with over load information.
Now a gifted post graduate can take me, no one else can.

I tried to teach drums to some kids.
I...

Re: Open-Handed Article

You can play open with the right hand.
I made several post about Phil Rudd and his hi-hat placement.

However Left hand open is a MUST regardless I believe.
Infact I have hi hats and rides on...

Re: My 'Less Drums' Enlightenment

Neil Peart says on his first DVD,

KISS
Keep it simple stupid

which tends to lead to

Re: No Click Track Required, Sonor Drums A Must!

I was looking at Phil Rudds set up again.

He uses a very forward hi hat position. This it the best advantage to the bass drum over to the right. It allows right hand playing on the hats without...

Re: Better Meter

Thanks for the replys. I am very aware of specific things that help with timing training. This really seems to improve my performance with a metrone. I hope others find it worth their while to invest...

Re: Better Meter

The CD's are reasonably priced at about $19,

I like this one called Higher:
Delicate, ethereal tones blend with Hemi-SyncŪ to focus you inward - to the source of creation. Enjoy a deep, sustained...
