Re: I'm in a Band - And I Have a Problem

Re: The Clave Police

On youtube there are a lot of "Police"

There are the "that double bass isn't as fast as so-and-so" Police

Re: Pearl World Series Drum Hardware

Pearl doesn't use any odd ball tension rod sizing, so common tensions rods from most brands should work.

Avoid DW and Sonar, as they are non-standard tension rods.

The tom arms are 7/8"...

Re: Talking salespeople down in price

Having spent many years working behind the drum counter, I could go on all day.

I never quite got why people would never haggle at the grocery store, but for some reason, it's open season at the...

Re: Positioning of 2 mounted toms

All you need is their ADP-30, or similar adapter to convert any cymbal stand into a tom stand.

Re: Do my drums grow with me?

You get taller, the throne and drums need to be adjusted.

And yes, thrones can and will slip over time.

Re: Bryan Adams: I Wanted to Be a Drummer

I tend to agree.

He's got a lot of nice pop/rock songs, but there is a lot of cheese in his career.

Small bit of trivia: Steve Smith played drums on Heaven in 1983, in part because they...

Re: calling all vintage ludites!!!

Back then, they didn't really have different lines with different shells like they do now.

Model names more had to do with the sizes and configurations, while sharing the same shell design.

Re: I've got the "looper" blues

I've worked with loops and sequencers going way back, but I can't imagine working with a looper in this situation.

I think I'd end up throwing it out a window. Without some sort of click or...

Re: Cover Band Drummists - How accurate are you?

Also, the other players involved is a criteria.

IF they're all playing exactly like the record, then yeah.

If they're just using the song as a jumping off point for a 10 minute jam, then...

Re: Quality of new Chinese Yamahas?
