Re: PEARL MASTERS MCX?

I'm assuming it's a new snare with new heads.
First, properly seat the batter head using the methods recommended by remo for remo heads. ie cpr etc.
It should of been done in the factory but...

Re: Paiste 2002, B8 but why do they sound so good?

I have a 2002 16 medium crash and its an awesome sounding cymbal. My other crash is a 16 thin 404 series. Yes they are the same size but they sound different due to their thickness, but they match...

Re: Which snare wires to get?

Want to cast a vote for Pearl Ultrasound snare wires. type i, c and d. Type c are excellent for metal snares and what I use on my bronze snare. They are cheaper $ than the puresounds and special...

Re: Got the shakes

Been there. what works for me is just to keep listening to the songs over and over. Just listen to those songs and nothing else till the gig. Especially between gigs.
Imo the drummer drives the...

Re: Just This Moment I Have Purchased A Black Beauty

I don't own a BB, but I just know a clear snare side will bring out that BB sound. 3mil is fine, will give it that beefiness and crisp sound its famous for.
on Remo CA top for sure.

Re: Double-dating a Supraphonic '72 or '76 ?

I'm not a Ludwig expert but I am rigorous when it comes to buying anything.
Sticker is April 2, 1972 i think?
I would assume either the sticker or the badge are not original maybe both?
Quality...

Re: Pearl Sensitone phosphor bronze snares available again

Imo even though they are great snares, the line will not succeed because of the price. (to me the lugs look horrible) The previous sensitone looked way better imo, lugs were beefier and overall...

Re: gig money for minor

i agree with Bermuda and shemp. As a matter of fact the existing band members should insist on it, in order to avoid resentment later. If they are straight shooters they will. Otherwise there...

Re: Just This Moment I Have Purchased A Black Beauty

Sound like your on the road to becoming less invasive and more melodic in your playing. I didn't know a BB could do that. Just kiddin'

Re: question to all drummers

If you want to play with drumless tracks, the best way is with a mixer, mics and in ear buds or something like what vic firth has on the market, ear muffs/earphones combo or similar brand. If your...

Re: Just This Moment I Have Purchased A Black Beauty

I would tune top head and bottom even pitch, tighten the snares a bit and make sure you wear a bib. You will get a snap just off center. And it will crack when you hit a bit further away. That's how...

Re: Just This Moment I Have Purchased A Black Beauty

First off I would make sure there is no weld on the inside of the shell.
Did you pop the hoops and see if there is any damage to the bearing edges? (Batter and resonant)
third did you sit the drum...

I'm not sure i understand that train of thought. I can compress a nylon washer to the point of destruction. But I get what you mean in a way but really your method doesn't provide for a very accurate...

What kind of music do you play?
You will need a lot of expensive gear to accomplish this and too many things can go wrong. I...
