Re: How To Get Drum Products To Review? Please Help

Re: Levon Helm Fans

Yeager: "Ya got any Beeman?"
Ridley: "I might have me a stick"
Yeager: "Well, give me some will ya?..I'll pay ya back later"
Ridley: "Fair enough"

Love the movie and Levon's playing. Icons both...

Re: Brush Drumming Inspiration

I've been getting a lot of mileage out of Florian Alexandru Zorn's "The Brush Secret" DVD.

On this he demonstrates many non-traditional brush grooves and some seldom seen approaches. I was...

Re: Drum(backline) rental in Frankfurt, Germany?

Hey Rick,

Thanks for chiming in. Good timing as the leader just let me know he's renting from Blue Lines Backline. :)

I'll try to let everybody know my experiences after I get back from...

Re: Drum(backline) rental in Frankfurt, Germany?

It's not that kind of arrangement.

It's OK, looks like it's been taken care of.

Thanks anyway

Re: PRESENTING : THE TWO-BAG DRUM SET

I have wanted the Rick Marotta Hip Gig for years but could never justify the expense. I think of this type of kit usually between midnight to 1:35 am when I loathe pulling my...

Re: Black Beauty owners - Drumhead advice?

Studio-X heads are alive and well AFAIK. I bought one to try on my 5 x 13 Pork Pie maple last month. A bit too much dampening for that drum. They work great on the church drum set toms (Ymaha SC) I...

Re: How to beat superior drummer

Slightly OT:

Bermuda - What are the typical programming tools you use for Al's stuff? I assume there is a DAW and VI (like Superior). Do you use the SPD-SX you bought to program or are you using a...

Re: I can only play original music?

Also - don't try to play with stereo speakers. You'll lose that battle unless you play very lightly and even then I don't recommend it.

Always use some headphones that you can plug into a sound...

Re: I can only play original music?

Hmm.

(OP)
I've tried to discern what the core goal is and had to go back to your initial statement: You want to play covers with friends. If you can't do it, then you don't have the skill set to...

Re: Hissing cymbals (on the record)

I listened to a few different spots jumping around and didn't hear anything that was extreme at all.

I do know it's tough to change cymbals on most mixes because they are picked up in general by...

You know when we Yanks hear or read the word "Whilst" we're either in church or involved with Shakespeare.

However, in the spirit....(clears throat)

Re: Is the acoustic kit dying?

Well even though some have tried, this thread does resemble a discussion of acoustic vs. electronics.

FWIW, here's my blah-blah-blah. :)

First back to the question: No - even though Roland has...

Re: Yamaha Peter Erskine 14x4 snare

A drum that sounds like what you describe and can be had for less is the Pearl Free Floating 3.5 x 14 snare with a maple shell. I owned the brass model at one point. It was a fine drum was the best...

This right here, Larry.

IMHO, behind all discussions of dissatisfaction and frustration with others in any music relationship (and plenty of other types too) has to be the solid fact that at a...

Re: My fave fill right now (one for the groovey minimalists)

Can hear Steve Jordan 'paying tribute' to this one. The groove that's happening right after the fill is what caught my attention.
