Re: What's your favorite cover (maybe limit to 2-3 songs) that your band plays right now?

We haven't even performed it in front of an audience yet. During the drum section i have just been doing a 20-ish measure drum solo. The band just waits to hear the pre-established drum fill cue and...

We just learned Supernaut very recently, and it's a pretty cool song.

Re: What's your favorite cover (maybe limit to 2-3 songs) that your band plays right now?

My favorite is probably 3 Little Pigs by Green Jelly. It's also the only song we do that I know all the words, lol.
We are going to start playing We All Die Young by Steelheart also, and I have...

Re: What's actually going well for you in your world of music?

We get to open for Journey in December in San Antonio. I'm pretty excited about that...might get to meet Steve Smith.

Re: Do you have a piece of equipment that you've used since day 1 and still use it regularly?

I don't have anything from Day 1, but I do have a Pearl Eliminator double pedal that i bought in 2003 (I believe) and it has been played at probably well over 1,000 shows in 40 something states and...

Re: Boutique snare drums-roadworthy?

I'm sure that for the most part a boutique snare is fine on the road in a performance aspect. The problem is all the other people that are around your stuff. I had a beautiful wood hooped Taye snare...

Re: The ALUMINUM Snare thread.

I have a 14x5 Taye aluminum snare, and it's great! The one I'd really like to get is their 14x6 aluminum snare with wood hoops. I think Bermuda mentioned having one and really liking it. I tried one...

Re: Taye Drums. Any good ?

I realize this is a 'thread resurrection' but I like to chime in when it comes to Taye drums. I've got a ParaSonic kit, StudioMaple kit, and two TourPro kits (which they don't make anymore), 7 or 8...

Re: So we all know big drums are out, but still tempted with this....

That kit looks killer!

I don't care what's in or out style-wise...I'm putting the finishing touches on this kit and will be gigging it on 'special occasions'.

Re: Chronicling rental/backline kits from around the world! 😁

Here at Camp Darby (near Pisa) they had this Mapex kit for me. Appears to be some sort of signature kit. I've never heard of the guy (guess i should google it), but the drums are really nice!

Re: The Cheap Snare Thread

You can typically find stainless steel Taye snare drums on eBay for $100 or less, and they are great. Also, I've got the Mapex MPX in maple and steel, and they are both nice for the price.

Re: Why would one need an Endorsement Deal?

It's just nice to have a relationship with the company. The support and recognition is really nice too. I broke my Taye double pedal in a mishap on the road once. I sent it back to them, and they...

Re: Best badges in the business

Ha ha, i know. I could have cut that part off, but I'm lazy. I also think that badge looks better on their Dark Ocean Burst kit. And finally, ParaSonics aren't inexpensive. (They are awesome drums,...

Re: So, This ever happen to you?

I remember reading an interview from long ago with Dave Lombardo (Slayer). During one of their tours he was having trouble playing the fast double bass stuff, and he couldn't understand why. Turns...

Re: Flying with double kick pedals

I was forced to check my double pedal at the last minute at an airport last year because security wouldn't allow it as a carry on. I am pretty sure it was Pristina, Kosovo, but i am not 100% certain...

Re: Should I trade?

I have a Pearl Brass SensiTone snare and it is awesome. It was my main snare for years. That being said, I probably wouldn't do the trade either. I think you can find the Pearl snare for not a lot of...
