Re: Does Steve Gadd actually use his signature snare drum?

Pearl is infamous for doing this. Tama and Yamaha don't really do that. (Nothing against Pearl Drums)

Re: Any punk drummers that anyone likes?

Topper Headon is one of my favorite rock drummers of the 1970's. He has tremendous versatility, and "Train in Vain" has one of the best grooves in the history of rock n' roll!

Re: Jose Pasillas

Jose Pasillas is a recent discovery for me. He's absolutely brilliant, I think he definately combines all the best qualities of his major influences. (Stewart Copeland, Tim Alexander ect:)

Re: Tim "Herb" Alexander

Tim is great! I like the way he plays double bass, (tasteful...mainly used for fills and accents) rather than the way hordes of metal drummers play it. (constant 16th notes.)

Topper Headon

Topper Headon from The Clash, I think this guy is absolutely fantastic. I mean, The Clash incorperated almost all genres of popular music, and Topper was able to play them all in a convincing...

Re: Keith Moon

I think Keith was a true non-comformist, he did every thing a drummer shouldn't do, and he did it well. =p

Re: Most Under-rated Drummers

I think Alen Wren (The Stone Roses) Topper Headon (The Clash) are hugely under-rated despite being in extremely influential bands. It is shame, I think that both of them are innovators. With Topper...

Re: Are they the drums you really want?

Is it just me, or guys who love Yamaha love Gretsch and vice-versa? I noticed this between fans of both of those brands.

On the topic, I would probably get a yamaha absolute hybrid kit with beech...

Re: Gavin Harrison here!

I have two questions Mr.Harrison.

1, I know that you can read notes, how important would you say it is for drummers to read notes? Would you say it is of equal importance compared to a violin or...

I love his cymbal sound, especially on the song "Sultans of Swing". Anyone know the specs of his cymbals on the first Straits album?

Alan Wren

Alan Wren from the Stone Roses, I really like this dude, he is very funky and tight. I love the drumming on the song "I am the ressurection". Those little high hat fills he plays in the bridge of the...
