Help me Identify this kit!!!

So I was on my way home from work and I was driving past a house when something caught my eye.

Turns out it was a bass drum.

I pulled over and inspected the drum for any brand or labelling and...

Well it's Brady so of course it's going to be amazing!!!!

I have the 14" x 6.5" Jarrah block and it is flawless, you should try that out as well, I'm pretty sure the 14" x 6.5" is one of their...

I was looking at the local gumtree (like an aussie craislist I suppose) and I came across a 10x8 Mapex Saturn rack tom in the the same finish and hardware colour as my kit.

It's listed for $200.

Re: Loudest Type of Snare?

I suppose under certain conditions, heads, tuning ect, most drums can be loud but the loudest I have heard has been my 14" x 6.5 Brady Jarrah Block and when I rim shot it, my ears actually hurt :)

Re: New Kit Options / Pearl vs Tama

Mapex also has a lifetime warranty on the shells

Mapex is quite a young drum manufacturing company, but they sure do a good job.

The finishes are beautiful to me, they are lacquer and the way...

Re: New Kit Options / Pearl vs Tama

I agree 100% on the Mapex Saturn, they are everywhere around Perth, just ask around at some other music stores. Keep an eye out for sales also because I got my Saturns new for $1600.

Saturns IMO...

Re: Buzz kill about DW

I have a Mapex Saturn and they are amazing drums for the price.

The hardware is solid (Might not be some DW 9000) tho, all my mapex hardware from my first kit a Mapex Q still works fine, so that...

Re: My new Brady snare!!!!! :)

Re: My new Brady snare!!!!! :)

I can't wait to play it with my kit!

I don't think I will ever need to buy another snare.

The guy that sold it to me actually makes them! I thought that was so cool.

Re: Tom on snare stand

That was lucky!!! I guess I don't have that problem, I have never really hit the side of my tom before like that.

It's working at the moment, but time will tell.

Ok I see, but I prefer to...

Re: Tom on snare stand

I had a quick little jam on it and it held up just fine.
I have some Gibraltar rubber hoop mounts that protect the finish if the drums touch, but if the whole tom falls from the basket it could...

Re: Tom on snare stand

I do like having the tom more over the bass drum but it would end up being too high and I would always rimshot, now it's in the perfect position to just slide from my snare to the tom.

Thanks!

Re: Tom on snare stand

It's only sitting on the tips of the rubber ends of the basket with light pressure, won't any interaction with the hoop and basket effect sustain?

Re: Tom on snare stand

Ahhh ok, I found that to get the stand to hold the tom tight enough without it moving around when I hit it, I had to snug the stand around it.

I also don't want to scratch my black nickel hoops :)

Re: Nathan Followill

I personally love his drumming.
He plays Zildjian now I'm pretty sure because on "Pyro", "Back Down South" and on VH storytellers he uses them. I got this from a website.

"Nathan's new Zildjian...
