I'm a very simple set up guy also I've always liked having a 4-6 piece set up with about 4 cymbals cause IMO it's all you really need I don't think you need a kit like Mike Mangini, or Jason bittner...

Alright what "series" Sonor would you reccomend cause I don't know the differences between all the Sonor series. I play at my church and they have a Sonor and it sounds great.

I agree. Portnoy is one damn good drummer, He deffinatly has chops and knows how to use them, He understands music, the only problem for me is he does stick around the same stuff every song.

Yeah I've heard the bigger floor toms.
16x16 and 16x18 they sound awesome if you can tune them haha.
My one friend has em' but he can't tune any drum for his life but he's still learning.. so....

Hey man, I use the same head for my bass drum and I must say... It is EPIC!
My Snare I use a basic coated Remo. And I love it so I think I'll stick with Remo on my Snare and Evans on the rest.

Dont worry about the budget I'll work with that myself haha.
Pieces... about 6 or 7.
Bass: I like 18" and 22" and the... longer style I'm not sure what the proper measurement is for the basic bass...
