Re: "Recording Heavy Drums" tutorial by Glenn Fricker

Re: Drum setup

I'm going to go the other direction than most replies here and say, if comfort allows, keep the 14" rack, as the jump from 13 to 16 will be much greater than the jump from 16 to 18.

I played with...

Re: No love for 20" bassdrums?

22" is probably the most popular/most sold size, but I believe just about every company sells a kit with a 20", just gotta dig through the website, or ask the guy at the store for one.

I'm looking...

Re: leaving the kick beater on the bass head?

it's is certainly not safe, as your foot may cause a rupture in the space-time continuum and destroy us all.

Re: Triggering??

I'm set up for that right now, sort of.

I have a firewire mixer with 4 XLR inputs and 4 stereo 1/4" inputs.

I'm using the XLR inputs for:
snare top
snare bottom
overhead left
overhead right

Re: 3 piece for Metal (is it good enough)?

@original question: Yes.

Matt Halpern gets along just fine with one floor tom.

Rings of Saturn gets along just fine with just a 10 and 12.

do what sounds good to you.
