I've recently tried lots of different brands and really been impressed with Scorpion Stix. You can't walk into a store and buy them, though. You have to order them online, and it can take a while.

Yes, I can read drum music. Started learning it when I was a kid taking private lessons and throughout school bands, orchestra, etc. Now as a teacher I make sure my students are good at reading...

There is a bar called The Royal that hosts open mics on Wednesday nights (I believe). There may be other spots, but I am not sure....will try to find out and post here.

The clutch that came with my Taye hi-hat stand is a 'push and rotate' kind of thing. Very fast and handy.

When i had grip issues (while using cheap, unfinished sticks), i just used hockey tape on the butt ends of my sticks. Worked great.

Yep....Neil used the same Slingerland (that he got used, i believe) for years and years. If i remember right it may have had a modified bearing edge before he even got it.

I got really good customer service from SKB. They replaced a 10 year old clip that broke on one of my cases free of charge.
I don't mind going to Guitar Center...sometimes it's a necessity on...
