Steve Gadd and Keith Carlock are two that come to mind when speaking of the grip you mentioned

its about being comfortable and developing your grip...

no...I play nothing like Moon.....I dont even bother trying....

I try to channel his spirit sometimes and have captured some flashes of "Mooness" live or on recordings where Ive had people say...

I think you could call Moon a virtuoso...its an arguable topic

not in the classic sense.....and certainly not in a Yo Yo Ma or Django Reinhardt kind of way

but he did have supreme natural...
