Eddie Garcia
Does anybody know anything on Eddie?
I've just been listening to him on Bill Champlin's "Mayday: Bill Champlin Live". There's a track called "Drum Solo" with...you guessed it... an amazing drum...

I recently acquired a Premier snare drum, it's about 14X5" I would say, Steel and has what appears to be the original heads.
The logo is engraved in a kind of script font, along with the words......

Re: Steve Ferrone
I love Steve's groove. I've been especially digging it since I saw Eliane Elias on Sky Arts, I think it was New Stars at The Blue Note from the early 80's. Awesome.
I HIGHLY recommend this...

Check out "Bottom Line" from Nightline (1982)
Superb straightgroove, with a classic Porcaro samba style ending!

Re: Ed Greene
Hi Tim
I've got quite a lot of his recordings. He pops up a lot along side all the other greats, and seems to have been a major part of the whole session scene. I guess you're right, he's not so...

Ed Greene
Anyone know much about Ed? (sometimes Ed Green, without the E on the end?)
I love his groove on Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground) from The Jacksons.
This is another guy who seems to be quite...

Mike Baird
Anyone got any information or recommendations for listening for Mike?
There's no mention of him on the main Drummerworld site, despite his rather large presence in the session scene.
The same...

Re: Left Hand Uselessness
I recall when I first started playing the drums.
The first breakthrough for me was getting my right foot to move independently from my right hand, let along my left anything!
I've been playing...

"The Dude"
Hmmm, what can I say?!
I think this album is quite possibly one of the best albums ever produced. After watching a two part documentary of Quincy Jones, I started to dig a bit deeper...

Just been listening to Lady Love Me (George Benson).
Here's a thing to do (if you haven't already). To do this, you need to take a decent recording. Mine is from the original CD, plus you need to...

Re: Jeff Porcaro
That's a nice post Alex,
I couldn't agree more. For me though, I don't remember Jeff passing. I was only a 12 year old boy at the time.
It would be another two years before I even knew who he...

Shame to see Jeff's been eliminated from the running.
Yeah you've got some phenomenal drummers out there today, but I still believe there's never been a touch quite like Jeffrey's.

Re: Jeff Porcaro
An album I've been diggin recently is "Wild Child" by Valerie Carter (1978). Now this is one super cool album. Really bluesy, and some great keyboard sounds from James Newton Howard.
Recommend it....
