Re: Did a promo photo for Taye...

That's a looking photo. I've always been under the impression that Taye drums we're pretty good. I've never played any in real life though

Re: Switching to lefty setup

If you're naturally left handed, then just set your kit up lefty and start playing. It will take a long time to get good, and for it to feel right. If you've been playing a long time you'll have to...

Re: From 3 up two down to 1 up 1 down

I've always enjoyed five or more drums. For a long time I played two up and two down 10 12 14 and 16. I no longer have the 16. I'm using 10 12 14 two up one down. If I go one up and one down 10 and...

Re: Foot technique

Getting to know your pedal. A lot of good information in that statement. It takes a lot of time to learn how to play like you want to. Make sure that you're putting in a lot of practice time and try...

Re: Ludwig bronze snare. B/W badge. Any good?

I think the B/W badge indicates that it's an import for Ludwig. I have a brass model and I like it a lot. I think 200 might be a little high for me. In terms of quality, if it's as good as the one I...

Re: Which do you enjoy most: Playing by yourself, jamming with others, or playing live?

Mine goes in accordance with how much I enjoy it. I like playing live the most, so that's what I get to do the least. Jamming or rehearsal is next, and practicing is what I like the least, so that's...

Re: Push Kick Drum Forward to Lower Toms

. Trying to avoid the expense of purchasing toms, I will try some of your suggestions when I get back to the studio (where my drums are). Thanks again.
I hear you man. Money was the reason...

Re: Favorite high end drum kit- model and brand?

I've only owned 1 high end kit, Yamaha BCAN I had it 5 yr. I think. I really liked it a lot, but I couldn't tell any difference between my 88 model Yamaha Power Tour Custom kit , and the BCAN kit....

Re: Favorite high end drum kit- model and brand?
I was thinking Guru too but when I spoke to Andy recently about building my dream kit, Guru particle board ply concert tom kit with sparkle finish and lead lugs,
Now that's...

Re: Push Kick Drum Forward to Lower Toms

I'm 5'6" and I went from a 80s power tom kit to a 2007 shallow tom kit with a 20" kick. I really liked the way I could get the rack toms lower. I played that power tom kit from 88 till 2009. After I...

Re: A New Journey

Wow that's pretty heavy. I hope the treatments do it for you. It sounds like you've got a good attitude and that will go a long way.

Re: My new Yamaha Hybrid Maple.

I like your new drums too. I think the deal was good after you explained how it went down. As for the hook lugs, I had a BCAN set of drums but with the round hooks (older version). I think it does...

Re: What's your latest purchase?

A crash-able ride and one other crash is why I bought my omni. Funny thing is, it didn't fit in with the band's music, so I took it back and bought a 20" Sabian AAX ISO cash as a crash ride. Which...

Re: What's your latest purchase?

Congratulations on the aax Omni. I have one and I really like it. The crash sound doesn't really go with my other cymbals very well so I use it sparingly for accents and stuff

Re: What's your latest purchase?

Oh yes there's a lot of pitting and a little bit of flaking. It does not hurt the sound any though LOL I don't think anybody would notice it unless they pick the drum up and look at it really good.

Re: What's your latest purchase?

250 for one in good condition is not a bad price at all. The pictures of mine look a lot better than it really is but I'm happy with it thank you

Re: Double bass frustration

I think for some of this it's a very long and hard Road. It is very frustrating. I've got nearly 50 years of playing under my belt and for the last 15 or more I've been working on double pedal and...

Thanks Larry. I was looking for a toolbox and could not pass that up. When you go looking for those things you never find them glad I was looking for a toolbox LOL

Re: Need some help choosing a snare.

Is there anyway for you to try some snares out, say at a guitar center or other big store? You can see for your self what each one sounds like. You can also buy one used after you've found out what...

Picked up a Supra for $50. in a pawn shop. It's pitted pretty bad but cleaned up nice. I like it.

On the list that I looked at I think 77 was the only year that had seven digits and they ended in 1290 something

Re: dating a supra

When I first saw it I was thinking that only the 70s and older have the internal Muffler but after looking online I see that some of the newer ones also had it
