My new kit has both VLT and X-shell drums. I checked out the differences when I was at the factory. The VLT has a lower pitch than the regular and the X-shells have a lower pitch than the VLT shells....

Get enough sleep! Nothing worse than feeling all tired and burned out.

Try to get a certain routine in your day so your body can adjust to the stress and gets familiar with the daily "abuse".
