I love 12 x 8 tom!

12 x 8 tom should be standard in all shell packs imho. :-p

yeah, definitely not cheap by any means...

Tommy's kit back in then(late 80's), from what I've read, cost $45K just for the shells... granted CF was fairly new thing and very expensive back...

not sure about how they sound as I've never banged on one but I've seen Dw's version(for whatever reason) going for around $500 or so on the bay just last year.

if you can track one down at that...

well, if you are going to spend the big money for a bell brass snare why not go all the way?

track down a Sonor HLD 590.

get that and be done with it. ;-)

I think it might be cheaper(and more convenient) just to track down a used Paiste spirit of 2002 snare drum...

plus you'd have the resale value behind it if you ever decide that it's time to move...

I own a set from 2001 and absolutely love them to bits..

nice finish on your kit as well. it's timeless, you'll be hard pressed to get sick of that finish.
