I need a deep snare 10 plus inches deep, the biggest yamaha makes is 14x 8, and that does not have the sound I want, would a MCA tom with snare beds cut and a strainer make a good snare? Thanks.

So MusiQmaN, there's no way for me to get customized drums from yamaha without being sponsored, this is really dissapointing for me, i may need to get a DW snare.

You may also just wanna try making one from keller shells, and buy everything from http://www.precisiondrum.com/
They come with bearing edges, you can have snare beds cut, you can have them drill...

If you want a field drum that sounds deep, floortom/snare ish, then look at some Blackswamp field snares, or Cooperman, both make very large snares and cooperman makes revolutionary style snare of...
