Re: Yamaha original Maple Custom kit - Is it worth it??

I have a beech custom with 14 and 16 hanging on a stand and it isn't a problem. Only issue with it for me is more stuff to carry around. I much prefer floor toms with 3 legs.

Re: Metronome app that speeds up and then slows down

Re: Impact of tuning on drum structure

If the snare is copper , gotta go easy with the tension. I have a Roy Haynes signature snare snd it is bent between the rods (bought it like that )

Re: Strangely hard, easy sticking pattern

That is what I was trying to say. That unison you play is the easy one (ride/hat on downbeat and snare on downbeat ).

Right hand: R-rR-rR-rR-rR etc
Left hand: ...

Re: Going from tight hi-hat to ride cymbal during songs - ride cymbal ideas

Maybe someone makes something opposite of a drop clutch? Something thst when you hit/lock it, the hats stays very close together with lots of tension ???

I bet you could install a hook similar to...

Re: Strangely hard, easy sticking pattern

On the kit , the unison you have are the ones between the hat keeping time and snare/kick.

That's why...

Re: Strangely hard, easy sticking pattern

And by the way , it is NOT an easy sticking pattern . There is a unison on the "plet" of "1 tri-plet" and the speed is pretty fast (porcaro shuffle type).

Re: Strangely hard, easy sticking pattern

This is close to a Swiss army triplet but not it (the Swiss army triplet has the flam in it ). In that groce , you do not want the flam in. You just need to practice slow and concentrate on the...

Re: complete beginner; problem with bass drum technique

Get a pedal that has an adjustable base plate and decrease the angle of the pedal (make it flatter).

Re: Real Band Dilemma....

It looks like (to me) you are disconnected from the band.

They like to rehearse once a week and be more of a social thing and hangout /unprepared as opposed to the more business-like approach you...

Re: Cymbal to tom or tom to snare

I believe he is talking about hit a cymbal and making the stick hit a tom right after in the same motion. Could be rack tom then snare or hat then snare.

The only requirement would be the 1st...
