Re: Drum Machine

My guitarist has an AI and an iMac, and I have a USB mic. The USB mic works fine for Youtube, but it doesn't work very well for other things. It might just be because I'm a bad producer, but I...

Re: Drum Machine

Thanks for the replies.
I hadn't even thought about using MIDI and libraries and all that good stuff. Thanks, all I need is a MIDI-USB cable, correct?

Re: TAMA Superstar Hyperdrive, Maple (2015) vs YAMAHA Stage customs, birch (2014)

Between these two, I'd pick the Superstar, mainly because I love the short toms. What kind of music do you play? That makes a difference in the wood type you pick.
Consider the Sonor Select Force...

Re: Pearl Export

My buddy has been using an Export his whole drumming career and he likes it. I have used it on multiple occasions and I would be fine using it. I would get a Stage Custom over it. Birch > poplar...

Re: SJC Drums and "The Profit" TV Show

You want to go American and custom, go with Pork Pie. Those are some of the greatest drums on the market.

Really good book aimed at rock drumming, even covers a little bit...

Re: SJC Drums and "The Profit" TV Show

You know, I just looked at their website, and they're arent as expensive as I originally thought. $1,500 for a kit isn't awful. I had it in my mind that they were $4,000+
Nice looking drums.

Re: Jazz setup

Ok. I have two kits. My main kit is my Yamaha Maple Classic (10,12,14,22) and my other kit is my Ludwig Accent (6,8,10,12,13,16,22x2). I'd be using my Yammies, except just a 3 piece. I'm also...

Re: 20" or 22" Double Kick setup

Well, playing death metal, youre probably going to end up with triggers anyways. So if youre concerned about space and such and are using triggers, go with the 20". Untriggered I'd go with the 22".

Re: Intermediate Single Pedal Metal

Stoner Witch by Melvins

And a fair amount of Meshuggah can be played with one pedal if your fast on one foot. "When I Lost My Bet" by The Dillinger Esc Plan is another one, it's mainly hand work....

Re: Looking to buy a drum set

I second this completely. Any drums can be made to sound good. I would recommend XS20's or Paiste Alphas... great cymbals.

Re: Looking to buy a drum set

Yeah I dont blame you about eBay. Ill buy cymbals off it but thats about it. I would definitely check Craigslist. Mine had like 3 Exports for like $250-$400.
