1950's Premier Drums

Anyone have any idea what kind of wood was used in the kits that Premier made in the 1950's?

Re: Need help recording

That interface should work with Garageband. If not, it will work with a multitude of others.

Re: Travis Barker Signature Drum Set! Reviews? Comments?

This. Right here. Awesome!

"Lessons? What? Can I buy those as a custom add on? Does Travis Barker play lessons? Unless the lessons are over $1,000, I'm not interested."

Re: Custom Drums...

I dunno. I think you could. I got a 3-piece clear Vistalite for 500 bucks on Craigslist. Good condition too.

You could probably piece together a Vistalite a la carte on Ebay for close to $700 if...

Re: Best drummer?

God yes, let's discuss this topic again for the 1,000,000th frickin' time.

I swear to Christ, he's what Kurt Cobain is to guitarists. "Ohhh dude, he's terrible...he can't hold a candle to Yngwie."

Acrolite is pretty mellow.

What would be the main difference between a clear emp and a smooth white emp?

Re: How To Get More "Low End" Outta Your Bass Drum?

No. Amps are just getting cranked louder and we don't have a plug.

Re: Ludwig vistalite Zep kit

Man, me too. I have always wanted a green Vistalite kit with a 26".

Re: Ludwig vistalite Zep kit

They do offer the 24"x14" now in the colors they currently have. Or do you mean toms?

Re: Ludwig vistalite Zep kit

I think one of their reps told me that. I assume it's true. Too bad Ludwig can't crank out any other colors besides Amber for the Vistalite 26".

Re: Ludwig vistalite Zep kit

I've seen plenty of dudes (including myself) play a Vistalite kit with coated Emperors on the toms. Never really dug on the Black Dot sound too much and a Pinstripe head works with pretty much...

Re: Beginners set at up to 600$

Seriously. Listen to him. Buying a new shell pack is major a waste money.

Buying a used kit takes your money way, way further. You also have room to haggle and sometimes people are in such a...

Re: 22 x 14 bass drum ?

It's probably due to the fact that those stupid deep kick drums are all the rage right now and will probably look as dated as roto toms in a few years. I can't think of many companies who actively...

Re: 22 x 14 bass drum ?

My Vistalite is a 24x14 and it just tunes itself. Plenty of boom, punch and definition.

My 22x14 Pearl Fiberwood kit from the 70's sounds good to me if it's stuffed with a pillow or something....

Re: Searching for Ludwig Vistalite kick

Keep looking on Craigslist. Of course the seller will have some fantasy about how much they should go for but if you offer fast cash and a 'reasonable' offer, you'll luck out. My 24, 16, 14, 13 clear...

Re: The Big Kits vs. Small Kits Debate

That sums it up. Play for the group and your style will ultimately emerge.

Don't force preconceived notions of how you think you sound into any musical collaboration.
