Re: Ludwig Supralite 8 x 14

I can see why some people just don't like them, I Like them because they're just like a punch in the face and gut. they have great feedback, I just don't get that from a 5" depth drum.

Re: Ludwig Supraphonic Acne

Wow that's pretty bad! that used to happen a lot but they have refined the process quite a bit. looks like the hoops are rusting too. You would have to re-chrome it. No idea about a fair used...

Re: Ludwig Joey Kramer Signature Snare Drum 6.5x14

Its just a Black Magic with some fancy etching, sounds the same though. I have played the BM 6.5 x 14 and have the 8 x 14 Black Magic, both are wonderful drums, highly recommended.

Re: Trying to decide Snare

Do you prefer wood or steel more, The Acrolite re issue 6.5 x 14 should work fine and be in your budget, its a nice in-between wood and say steel or brass. The Natal Bronze snare like in my avatar is...

Re: New Snare Drum day--PDP 13x7 Ltd Bubinga/Maple 20 Ply

Congratulations, when I put the Aquarians on mine the harsh overtones were gone. All in all I still found them to be somewhat versatile in tuning ranges, I am on a GAS hiatus for the time being and...

Re: PDP LTD Bubinga-Maple 20 Ply Snare

Putting decent heads on it made a huge difference for mine. The Aquarian Hi-energy and Hi-velocity sound huge on this. Die cast hoops would be interesting, at least on the batter, hmmmmm.......

Re: PDP LTD Bubinga-Mzple 20 Ply Snare

Did you go with the 6.5 x 14? I don't think you will be disappointed, be sure and get some decent heads on it, wires are OK, I am using them.
