Re: Grateful Dead Announces ‘Unprecedented’ 80-Disc Box Set

Oh good, I was looking for a new batch of music to help me get to sleep.

But seriously, that's so much music - quite an undertaking

Re: Am I nitpicking?

The last option you mentioned is completely out of the question. Money back or trade, that's it. You wouldn't accept a new car with a crooked door or radio that doesn't work would you? No, the...

Re: advertisement attachments

I'm not sure what you mean by attachments so I'll assume popups. What are the ads for? If it mentions any virus or malware infection and it's not from your antivirus software, DO NOT...

Re: How do you hear it all?

Yours also takes a 9 volt which could be handy. Fortunately I've haven't run into a power issue...yet. I need a power strip most gigs so I bring a super long extension cord.

I try to keep my...

Re: The drummers who just go for it

This thread had a non-malicious intent and I don't see much "slamming" going on in here. The sensitivity is running a little high IMO, don't start drama and compare us to some bloody guitar board you...

Re: The drummers who just go for it

What!? Lars knows how to do a flam, as heard in his 1,000 blickums per album.

Re: How do you hear it all?

That's the same-ish setup with the Behringer Micromon and Etymotic isolation headphones. Our singer has the same box as you and he has no complaints.

If the monitor mix is too poor I'll drop the...

Re: Zildjian Factory Tour...

Thanks for posting. For a second there I thought a Turkish dude was walking into the conference room to show you some crash cymbals.

Re: Help with Dave Grohl lick

It doesn't appear or sound to be a standard triplet fill, is his left hand doing 1/4 notes and his right hand 8ths?

Re: Annoying store experience.

That's good to hear. As a proper manager he shouldn't have badmouthed that employee in front of you, but I wonder what the deal was. It's clear he has no interest in his job or being loyal to that...

Re: Dust, pitting, oxide how this can affect?

^^this^^ A newish kit looking that bad already is something to stay away from. The owner didn't care enough to take good care of it. That chrome will never look 100% and you'll have to put a lot of...

Re: Hows this for a good ear? Or something

Guess you could say it was a Trial By Fire, but Any Way You Slice It you might be a bit Secretly Cruel mentioning it in the forum years later. Perhaps he thought he was King of the Mountain and...

Re: Double-Bass Drum Setup Popularity - When Did It Begin?!?

Some firsts were mentioned, but most popular time? I'd say 70's. Early 80's still had plenty of double sets too. Other notable double drum players (and faves of mine), Ed Shaugnessey, Cozy Powell,...

Re: Dust, pitting, oxide how this can affect?

Or you could just not bother with a) signing up for an account because you obviously would never use it, b) getting spam from photobucket, c) more instructions.

When you're posting, look under...

Re: microphone clips on toms

Take a look at the Sennheiser e604 mic clip, which appears to have a newer design, not sure. Anywho, they fit on my triple flange and die casts and look beefy enough to claw onto the sonic savers....

Re: DW drums being "Overpriced"

Neil Peart appreciates it. I'll hear that kit next week and I doubt I'll be able to tell a difference. I heard there's clown tears and Royal Canadian Mineral
Water infused into his drum heads.

Re: DW drums being "Overpriced"

I would like to think Tama played the biggest part in marketing and creating the trend for bulkier, double braced, road-worthy, and versatile hardware. Not quite the same buzz as you're talking...

Re: Stage Etiquette

I try to do a 4/4 rock beat, 100ish BPM. I make sure I hit everything individually and together. Lots of blickums and 8th note fills. Basically play like John Rutsey for sound check :D
