Re: The matching snare

Re: The matching snare

The market tells us drummers want choices of snares and cymbals. Just because you don't agree with the concept of a mis matched snare does not make everyone else wrong. Maybe I am missing something...

Re: The matching snare

Not sure where that last line came from.

The snare is something that adds to the signature sound of a given recording drummer. As a drummer in a cover band I wish I could afford several snares...

Re: A new drummer

I used this site when I was getting back into drumming.

http://drumrudiments.com/

Can be boring working on rudiments but it is necessary. I still do some rudiment work every week.

Re: The matching snare

I have a matching snare right now. But as soon as possible I won't. Need my Ludwig Supra back! I prefer non-matching.

Re: What drummers have marched?

I marched in D&B Corp for two years. It was a good experience for proper form. Although I have probably lost much of that form!

Re: MEMORIZING DRUM PARTS

I guess once I chart it as I did above I then rely on recognizing the chord changes. I don't have to count twelve bars, I think the charting helps me to internalize it. Since I work in the training...

Re: Mapex Pro M vs Mapex Saturn

At one point not too long ago I was expecting to need a practice kit. My thought was to get a smaller kit that I could use in case of a very small venue.

Re: Signs you're getting better at the drums

Similar to another's post, when I can set up a chord change with a small fill/ghost notes etc the same as it sounded in my head and do it effortlessly. Enjoying a few of those moments lately.

Re: When Your Band Won't Gig

Something that took me too many years to internalize is that it is hard to change other people. So an open discussion is in order. If what they are willing to do is not enough for you, start looking...

Re: You know you're a drummer when...

So funny! Yesterday at band rehearsal a spider was crawling up the wall. One tap of my drum stick and he was down! Stupid idea of course since now I had to clean my stick!
