Re: buying new DW drum kit, is this worth it? what is this kit?

i'd look into a new set of ludwig's. either classic maple or legacy classics. best drums on the market in my opinion. there's a lot of great dealers around too. and to my knowledge, unlike gretsch...

Re: Ludwig Acrolite Classic and Ltd. Edition!

If they start drilling the butt plate higher...where it BELONGS...I'll sell my Black Beauty and LM402 and replace them with new ones. This has always seemed asinine to me. It's frustrating to have...

Re: Ludwig Acrolite Classic and Ltd. Edition!

Re: Ludwig Acrolite Classic and Ltd. Edition!

i don't know, i kinda dig the limited model. i always put tube lugs & p86's on my acro's, so the brushed hardware doesn't really matter to me. depending on the retail price i may get one. obviously i...

Re: Soul drum sizes

you hit it right there. the motown kits were usually 20x14, 8x12, 14x14 and 5x14. at stax, al used a 20x14, 8x12, 16x16 and a 5x14 acrolite, ALWAYS. his touring rig was a little bigger with an added...

The Jerry Nolan Appreciation Thread

Always loved his playing. Very solid, underrated drummer in my opinion. Not flashy at all, but very competent. His recorded output with the New York Dolls and the proper 77 mixes of Johnny Thunders &...

Re: drum shelves/storage methods

Re: Benny Benjamin

he did indeed. thanks for the specs, i was thinking that myself. i'm guessing 20's were more popular among the soul greats (benny, al jackson, etc.) due to their respective backgrounds in jazz....

Benny Benjamin

I know there isn't much info on him, or any of the motown drummers for that matter, but if anyone knows the sizes of the kit used on those records it would be greatly appreciated. I know that it was...
