Saturns have two inner plies of walnut which Pearl doesnt. This is what gives the saturn that distinctive sound over the VMX. I have played and owned both Pearl and Mapex. Mapex outweighs the pearls...

I did it to an old Ludwig kit, maple shells with black wrap/ the wrap on the ludwog kit was glued on entirely. I did have to use a heat gun and used a 2 inch putyy knife to slowly peel it off abit...

metal can be played on any drumkit. Tama isnt the only good sounding kit for metal believe me.
They do have nice kits, I have never owned one but I have played many tama kits.

that is a gorgeous kit!!!! Too nice to play really. BUt I did notice the giant fat snare sitting on the staircase... what was that snare? how much stress is your 16inch floor tom getting being it is...
