Re: Ludwig's website? Plus Centennial Pics!

No kidding, Ludwig get on the ball! It'd be better for sales if people could actually use your website!

It's an 18" HHX Evolution. I love this cymbal! I'd like to try more HHX in the future!

Ludwig's website? Plus Centennial Pics!

I was just wondering what's up with Ludwig's website? Apparently they discontinued the Centennial drums a while back now, but I only found that out by reading drummerworld here. Is their website...

Re: NEW TUBS! Silver sparkle ludwigs!!!

Beautiful kit and great playing! Before I bought my green sparkle centennials, I played a silver sparkle kit in store. I remember it being *ever-so-slightly* yellow, as if the laquer had yellowed...

Re: My New Ludwig Centennials (good and bad news!)

Sorry I took so long to reply. I don't know if the gouge would negatively affect sound, but I guess it depends on how bad it is. I would send the bass drum and the floor tom back for fixing though....

Re: Ludwig Keystone vs. Classic vs. Legacy

I bought a Ludwig Centennial kit and had a quality control issue with ugly wood filler on the bearing edge of one shell. I should mention though that the Centennial is also cheaper than those...

Re: My New Ludwig Centennials (good and bad news!)

The stock heads did sound great when tuned nicely, but I like the warmth of these coated emperors; made a big difference in my opinion. Also, I didn't realize a 13" snare was an option. Mine came...

Re: My New Ludwig Centennials (good and bad news!)

Not to stir anything up, but here's a happy end to my story above. My 18" floor tom replacement finally came about a month ago. It took longer than it should have because the store made a mistake...

Re: Pork Pie or Ludwig?

Can't say for the Pork Pie, but I have a Centennial kit myself. The good is that the shells are well built, the sparkle lacquer is beautiful, and the tone is great! In my opinion the Centennial...

Re: Taylor Hawkins

Yes lots of fun. I'm still trying to nail down some of his parts, but overall it's not a difficult album drum-wise. I love the Neil Peart ride lick thrown into Rope :) From what I've heard Taylor...

Re: Taylor Hawkins

Any Foos fans here hear the new Wasting Light album? It's a good album overall and Taylor's drum tracks are well thought out. In my opinion his style is a nice bend of modern rock and classic rock.

Re: Ludwig Centennial vs. Ludwig Element SE Retro

Awww, you're getting rid of the centennial? I love mine and I think the toms are the most versatile I've ever had, but I sort of agree with you about the bass drum. I have a 20x24" bass with my...

Re: Does anybody know the retail price for the 2011 Ludwig Centennial Zep Set?

Just curious... they offered a Centennial model 12x26 bass drum in the past? I didn't think they were available in these sizes until now; the 2011 catalog being the first time I've seen these...

Re: Does anybody know the retail price for the 2011 Ludwig Centennial Zep Set?

There's a Centennial Zep Set in the 2011 catalog. I own last year's green sparkle Centennial as shown in the link there. It looks like they are discontinuing the green sparkle altogether now...

Re: How much I should ask For this starclassic

For the starclassic I can't say for sure. I had a 2002 (I think) Tama Rockstar. It was an 8 piece, in absolute mint condition, with brand new Remo heads on tops and bottoms, which I sold for $1200...

Re: The 24" Kick Thread

I just got my Ludwig Centennial kit before Christmas, ordered with a 20x24" bass drum. I have to admit that even though 20" is deeper than most here would prefer on a drum this size, I like it a lot...

Re: New Ludwig at NAMM??

I am intrigued by the new shell sizes! One day I may cut my 20x24" bass drum down to a 16x24"... it's cool to see that they are offering these new bass drum depths, though it's sad to see the green...

Re: New Ludwig at NAMM??

Really? How so? The problem went away for me when they agreed to replace my shell at no cost... perfect. But what about the next guy? I wonder how many others are experiencing shoddy workmanship...

Re: New Ludwig at NAMM??

You never mentioned green sparkle? My Centennial in green sparkle laquer.

The Centennials? If you are considering the Centennials, they are Ludwig's 100 year anniversary kit. In my opinion,...

I noticed on Ludwig's Facebook NAMM photo album, there's a new colour option and kit config being released for the Centennial kit line. It looks...

Point taken, and I appreciate your opinion as well. Like steadypocket said though, "Perhaps this is not indicative of Ludwig across the board but for a kit that cost more than $400 per drum, I...

Re: My New Ludwig Centennials (good and bad news!)

Don't misinterpret this thread for being a Ludwig hate thread... I am loving my new drums and cannot wait for the new tom to come in! I don't think Ludwig's reputation should be shot down by my...

Re: My New Ludwig Centennials (good and bad news!)

Hey audiotech, maybe others can confirm this, but the Legacys and Classic Maples are made in the States (I think), whereas the Centennials are made in Taiwan. So they are made in totally different...

Re: My New Ludwig Centennials (good and bad news!)

I should clarify $1900 CDN, but I think USD and CDN are pretty comparable right now. The drum kit's retail value might vary in Canada here though.

Yes I agree, the edge is smooth. With my eyes...

Re: My New Ludwig Centennials (good and bad news!)

I guess it can happen to anybody, with any brand of drums. Like "keep it simple" said above though, drums are a purchase of the heart and this was my dream kit. It's the 4th drum kit I've owned,...

Re: My New Ludwig Centennials (good and bad news!)

How do I find their email addresses? I cannot find them on the Ludwig website.

Yah the lacquer is nice I must say. Yes, the 20"x24" kick drum is a cannon. Before receiving the kit I had...
