Re: 5x14 Acrolite

Just my opinion, but I think the Acrolites are great for the money. They are cheap, they are versatile, and light. I've always found them easy to tune for several different tones. I'd buy another...

Hello guys. I wanted to talk a bit about this snare drum before I sell it. According to the serial number, it is a mid sixties Gretsch 4160 Chromer over Brass snare drum in 14x5". Looks great for...

Re: Pop Drumming!

John Blackwell. He has quite a bit of stuff to look upon. He is righteous.

Re: To logo, or not to logo...

I'm with you. It feels weird. But is does serve a purpose. Maybe you can compromise and come up with a way to show some identity without feeling like cheesy wear my own band's shirt guy. I am...

Re: Yamaha Drum Testimonials Anyone?

That kit is nice! I want one. Do you like the snare? I've heard good things from a couple of engineers I know.

Re: Birch kick

Every single time I am in a recoding situation that I have had a choice in kick drums, I have ended up using birch ones. I favor maple toms, but I love a good old birch kick. Maybe it's just a...

Re: Kings Of Leon & Brady Drums step up for Bushfire Relief Auction

I just told the guys in my band that my b-day present should be a Brady snare drum. I think that's fair.

Re: Frustrated, about to quit...

I know exactly how frustrating that situation can be. I would change things up with practicing like the others have suggested. But don't get to down. Everybody hits walls, plateaus, ect. That is...

Re: Nick Mason

I like Nick Mason. It took me a long time to appreciate the nuances in Nick's playing, but he is a cool guy to listen to. I love when he doesn't use a ride or hats to lead in certain movements of...

Re: Crashing the ride?

When I've seen Dave play this song, he is crashing his ride. I use that technique sometimes, but you can get a similar sound by "riding" a larger crash. Heavy and MH rides sound pretty "gongy" when...

Re: Drummers who play too much!

This is a great tool! It always makes me judge myself like a do others, and as a listener will judge you. Good call!

Re: Where can I find a line with 22 x 16" Bass drum?

Hello,
The closest answer I know would be Yamaha, with 17" deep kick drums in the Tour Custom and Stage custom series. I'm not a huge fan of the newfound love affair that drum companies have with...

Re: worst way to be dumped by a band

No kidding! I'm a nice guy, but I do believe someone, or maybe a couple of people might have gotton their nose socked. Hasn't everyone dreamed of punching a lead singer? That guy missed his chance!

Thanks again everyone! I am excited to say that I will soon be the proud owner of two new Yamaha kits. I have been checking them out lately, and all I can say is, "you were right." These drums are...

Re: What are your Drumming Prejudices?

I think my biggest prejudice is when I hear a soundcheck, and tuning issues are obvious. I think if you are doing well enough to have people pay money to see you, you should be able to tune drums!

Re: Dave Abbruzzese

Pearl Jam is probably the reason that I play music today. I remember everything about hearing that band for the first time. Everybody always remembers Ten, and of course, so do I. But when I heard...

Thanks to all of you that shared the info. I think I'm ready to put them up against some of my other kits. I decided to spend some time comparing the BCA and MCA to each other as well. I will let...
