Re: Nice birch or maybe maple kit under $900

I think there are a number of good kits in your price range. I bought this Mapex Meridian Maple kit about 6 months ago for ~$650 US. I really like the sound of this kit and it is well made. The kit...

Re: anyone order from sweetwater?

Same here. Whether I order something for $5.00 or $5,000 I get a phone call thanking me and asking me if my purchase arrived OK. IMO, they have the best service in the business.

Re: Room advice

I agree with a hard surface under the drum kit. However, since he already has very reflective drywall surfaces, I don't think adding wood to the walls will help. Removing sound absorbing or deadening...

Re: Drummers don't need music stands...

I frequently use notes and charts to guide me through new songs. Most professional drummers do the same thing. There is nothing wrong or unusual about it. I just started using my iPad more, but it's...

Re: Room advice

As someone already mentioned, the best option would be to remove the carpet and replace it with tile or hardwood flooring.

Re: help me pick an sq2 veneer

Of the three the one I would NOT pick is American Walnut. It does have this cheap flooring look to me.

Re: you can only pick two snare drums...

I agree with this but would change it slightly. 5" to 6.5" metal drum for crack, clang, ping, pop and ritty-titty. In my case a 6.5" Black Beauty

A 6" or 6.5" wood drum (probably maple) for blam,...

+1...I've been using this for years.

I just read the can of Lemon Pledge I have and there are NO warnings about using it on lacquer finishes. I only use it on my drums about once a year. I spray...
