My buddy own a drum shop. So there's a few of us always hanging around. To kill time in winter months, my buddy says "hey, let's get together once a week at the house and have pad sessions".

sorry for confusion James, referring to one-handed. Reason I'm asking is I see some notation with unison hat and snare. for me it's on the hairy edge ( Underhill's avator LOL) to keep up.

Would Moeller on the backbeats take the place of using rim shots? I realize rim shots have a different tone, and most use them to cut through the PA, but wouldn't Moeller be just as effective?

+1 with Bill heavy hitter pad. Pat Patrillos pad is pretty cool also, for moving your hands around emulating different sources.
