Re: Best vehicle for a gigging band?

I would say a trailer would be the best bet. I can't imagine bringing a full stack and one guitar. I would rather bring a 1x12 combo and 2-3 guitars.

Re: Kit Too Big or Too Small

Mine is one up, one down AND I have a cowbell, splash and tambourine. I have to lock all the doors to my house when I play though, because these three items together attract women from miles around....

Re: Kit Too Big or Too Small

I like more simplistic kits purely because I broke my back and blew out a few discs. I don't twist as well as I used to. Keeping everything under 180 degrees is just more comfortable. A 4 piece with...

Re: Another Example Of How The Role Of A Drummer In Song Support Is Evolving

The splash on the snare was interesting. I kinda dig the clank sound it gave. Hmmm...

Re: Craigslist question - is this normal?

I would do it. Your situation with your guitar player friend seems like a casual jam and I'm sure he would understand you taking an oppurtunity to advance your skill. I think jamming as often as...

26,000,000 Texans may disagree with your directions to our wonderful state. HAHAHA

I just sort of assumed that this section of the forum was for this type of post. Seems to meet the criteria.

Re: Check out these two R-L-L-F drum fill lesson videos

I enjoyed the videos too. My bag of tricks is pretty empty, so I enjoy finding new things to throw in to it.

Re: My crazy guitar player bought a brand new kit for me to use!

I keep hearing this. The 24 is the most intriguing part to me. I really want to try one. From what I gather, it is less washy than the GB with more defined stick, but still crashable.

Did he buy...

Re: My crazy guitar player bought a brand new kit for me to use!

Tell him to be careful. The road he is on is what led me here. I haven't played my guitar in a month or so...

Great looking kit by the way. I've been thinking pretty heavily about those cymbals,...

Re: My story about competing in the International Blues Challenge

Sounds like a cool (pun...) trip even though you didn't advance. How was the Gibson tour?

Jamming with others is about as much fun as one can have with...well, it's a whole lot of fun. Don't stress out about mistakes. Don't be afraid to let loose a little. If all else fails, just play...

Re: How should a band practice?

This was my experience with my last project. The "leader" didn't want to gig, only record and release music online. He wanted to record every practice. We rarely made it through an entire song at...

Re: A guitarist question on a drum forum

Agreed. There is so much that goes into deciding on an amp. It has the greatest impact on your tone than any other piece of gear.

Re: A guitarist question on a drum forum

There is a lot to consider with this. What kind of music will he be playing? I play an Orange Rocker 30 and at full rock band volumes, my headroom is almost non existent. If I played primarily...

Re: Well...I didn't think I was being loud

Re: Unpopular Drumming Opinion Thread

I find Jazz boring. I recognize the skill required to play it and don't posses it, but it just seems like a bunch of guys playing different songs.

Re: Structuring Practice for Beginners?

I have a typical practice routine that involves Stick Control, but when I find myself gravitating to the set throughout the day, I just throw on some headphones and put on some of my favorite songs. ...
