WTB: Yamaha Rock Tour 13" Tom

I've been searching for the 13", preferably in the smoke sunburst (textured ash) finish, but I'll take any color.

Drums/Percussion in "Strong Enough" by Sheryl Crow?

I've always wondered what kind of drums/percussion are used in the song "Strong Enough" by Sheryl Crow? Congas, Djembe, anyone know?

Thanks.

Re: Yamaha Drums

Really sucks that you can't get the new Hybrid Maple with virgin bass drums.

Re: John Good Interview

I've never come across a DW kit that I've liked the sound of. They all sound like muffled cardboard boxes to me.

Re: Ludwig Legacy in Emerald Sparkle Fade Finish

Ah, thanks for the 411. Any particular reason they weren't popular? I think the Emerald looks really nice.

Ludwig Legacy in Emerald Sparkle Fade Finish

Wondering if anyone knows anything about the Emerald Sparkle Fade finish? I don't see it on Ludwig's website, so has it been discontinued? I see one kit on eBay and some stock pictures but I haven't...

Re: Hanging Toms vs. Floor Toms - Yamaha Hexrack

I can't decide if I should go:

12" 13" 16" (all hanging, 2 up 1 down)

OR

12" 14" 16" (all hanging, 2 up 1 down)

Going with the even intervals is a draw, but would the 14" rack look too...

Re: About to order some Bonham sized Ludwigs Classic Maples. Got questions.

There's a lot of factors - some might not have a van or vehicle large enough to get huge drums around, some might have roadies, some might be playing in bars while others are playing on decent size...

Re: Need help choosing drum kit/shell pack

Go for the Yamaha. Buy some decent cymbals separately.

Re: About to order some Bonham sized Ludwigs Classic Maples. Got questions.

Just know what you're getting yourself into, the most important thing is getting drums and a setup that works for YOU. What worked for John Bonham was what worked for him, it's not necessarily the...

Re: Hanging Toms vs. Floor Toms - Yamaha Hexrack

I don't know, everyone says a rack takes more space but that goes against Yamaha's whole theory. Have you seen this image? The small charts on the bottom in particular are interesting - showing how...

Re: Today's Fattest Sounding Kits?

I mean I have a Ludwig Keystone, and I wouldn't call it a very fat sounding kit. It's loud and punchy, thanks to the oak.

Ludwig Legacy's do sound pretty damn fat to me, and C&C's.

Re: Hanging Toms vs. Floor Toms - Yamaha Hexrack

Hey the Bay Area does get pretty bad traffic, so that statement might be true sometimes =P

There's no way I can leave legs on floor toms, I have to break down and put my drums back in their cases....

Re: Where can I buy a Yamaha Rock Tour?

Check on eBay, I always see them pop up there. I have a 3pc in the Smoke Textured Ash finish and it's nice! It's my small kit, that I can just throw in the back of the Jeep without worrying about it...

Hanging Toms vs. Floor Toms - Yamaha Hexrack

I'm scoping out my new kit and have decided on the new Yamaha Absolute Hybrid Maple in 22 12 13 14 16 sizes with 2 up 2 down, but I'm torn between getting traditional leg floor toms for the 14 and...

Re: Yamaha Phoenix (PHX) Drums

I'm wondering what many of Yamaha's top endorsees are going to do now that RCs, and the standard maple and birch Absolutes have been discontinued. What's Carter Beauford going to do? His RCs will...

Yes very underrated drummer, stays out of the spotlight (as do the Crowes as a whole!)

Re: Best 2 up 2 down Sizes for Rock?

I'm playing mostly hard rock, I wouldn't want to go smaller than a 22. More concerned about sound than easier transport...

Re: Best 2 up 2 down Sizes for Rock?

I have a 24x14 bass with my Ludwig kit and I like it, but I think I want this new kit to have a 22 just to have it in my inventory and have something a little smaller that can be more controlled.

Re: DW Collectors Maple vs. Yamaha PHX Maple

I realize they're different animals, but I wasn't really looking to compare apples to apples, just curious about what people think of them both and what their experience is with them if they've had...

Re: Best 2 up 2 down Sizes for Rock?

I suppose 12, 13, 16, 18 wouldn't be bad either. Although for the types of gigs I'm playing, I could probably leave the 18 at home (usually not playing large stages).

I like a good 12 and a good...
