Re: Rock Gigs Not Very Rock Anymore?

Those would be my questions as well.
As well as: were they originals or a covers band?
I can understand the stale atmosphere if it's just a covers band which nobody paid to see and everyone's just...

Re: Would you uproot to go where the music is?

Ah yes, more Aussie talent moving to the US to pursue dreams of fame and fortune (I can feel an "Australia is the arse end of the world" comment coming on).
Seriously though (and I realise I'm...

Re: Hybrid drummers can I have your attention please?

Done and done (as you can see, the term "hybrid" is a tad confusing for most people). ; )
May I suggest the term "A2E" (acoustic to electronic) in the future?

Re: Do you hear sounds or mechanics when you play?

Always wondered if the e-kit thing was just me but seems to be universal to most e-drummers. Good to know!

Re: Do you hear sounds or mechanics when you play?

I as going to cite the same sort of thing when it comes to e-kits.
When going from one snare sound (ie tight and ringy to loud and boomy for instance) I swear the snare itself feels different when...

Re: Could have been awkward ...

I think that's the way to go. And don't forget, there's also the possibility that your now-grown-up daughters couldn't give a toss that their mum is playing in a band with an old school friend. I...

Re: Was Lars' double-bass on the track Dyers Eve a fraud?

Wow, that's the first time I've heard of him cutting out the triplets in "One" (not to mention the tom fills towards the end which I don't think he's ever played live).
Don't get me wrong, I'll...

Re: Was Lars' double-bass on the track Dyers Eve a fraud?

Agree with everything you've said (except for liking Load and Reload).
The trouble is Lars' priorities these days are 1) Family 2) The business of keeping the Metallica machine running. Drumming/...

Re: What are your stories of when people found out you are drummer?

That would be my answer as well.
To take things a step further, I've had guests come into my unit who have waltzed in, commented on the decor, amount of space (or lack thereof), etc, and completely...

By your definition, Lars Ulrich is the greatest drummer who ever lived?

Re: How long before we 3D print drum gear?

The gun will blow up in your hands as much as the target at the moment.
If they start printing in metal though, could be a different story!

Re: What do you think about Casey Cooper (COOP3RDRUMM3R)

Sadly, this is becoming a hell of a lot less common these days (in Oz at least).

Re: What do you think about Casey Cooper (COOP3RDRUMM3R)

What the hell- has this thread become "What do you think of B3RMUDADRUMM3R?? ; )
Seriously though, how could you not love Weird Al (and associated drumming).

Re: A kit to call my own, without starting a drum company

Absolutely you should do this ^
Also, (just being ultra picky) I'd personally like to have the hi-hat pedal a lot closer to the left bass drum pedal so perhaps you could invest in a 2 leg/ no leg...

Re: What do you think about Casey Cooper (COOP3RDRUMM3R)

+2, +3, etc??
Yes Mr Cooper should definitely stick around.
It would be a sad affair indeed if he had only joined this forum for the express purpose of defending his brand (although this thread...

Re: A kit to call my own, without starting a drum company

Absolutely stunning kit alright- you couldn't wipe the smile off my face if this was mine and the fact you (sort of) built it from scratch must be a great source of pride.
Does that finish have a...

Re: A cute message from my wife

Sounds like someone else is putting Pearl's in Bo's garage. *High five!*

DISCLAIMER: I'd like to personally apologise to Bo in advance for these crude remarks.

Re: What do you think about Casey Cooper (COOP3RDRUMM3R)

Before reading this post I may have agreed with Dre's assertion of Mr Cooper "cutting the queue" but this has changed my mind on the subject.
No, not the best drummer in the world (he admits this)...

Maybe you should get a set of these for your wife? http://www.diamondelectronicdrums.com/
