I don't have the notoriety of Bermuda, nor the vendor support and though I consider myself a professional, I don't make a living with my drumming but I have 21 sets, 52 snare drums, 150 different...

That drum was not from the original Workshop series sets DW offered from back in the late 1990's. If you look at my reply, I referenced the original Workshop series from that period not the Workshop...

OK, I went with the Sonor S Classix Kit. It is a 2011 model year and is laminated in Rosewood with birch shells. here's some pics of the new kit.
