Re: Software Suggestion?

I'll check out both of these.
edit: erm, actually both of these have huge file sizes and I'm on dial up. Plus I'm looking for a full version of something so I don't have to do a trial. I'm assuming...

Software Suggestion?

I need something that I can arrange my wav files in to make beats, then arrange the beats into a song, and then be able to export the song to wav. So far I've used hammerhead rhythm station and...

Re: Software for slowing down recorded music

I don't know if this was said already, but for future purpose so you don't have to convert from wma to mp3, you can rip the songs in mp3 by going to Tools->Options and then changing the settings for...

Mixer problem

I don't know what could have happened, but last time I used my mixer, it made this noise like something was completely overdriven. But when I would make move one of the faders for the left or right...

Using a mixer

Hey, I have a behringer xenyx 1622fx mixer and the manual for this doesn't quite educate me enough and I haven't found really anything really definitive on how to use this mixer. I would just like to...

batter head as resonant?

So recently, after much anticipation of this, both of the resonant heads on my snares have broken. I don't have the money yet to buy new heads, lol, so I'm thinking of putting one of the batter heads...

Re: weird fills.

Absoooolutely. I play these over the bar fills alot in triplets in the vein of him and bill ward. I just like the way it feels playing like that.

weird fills.

Ok, so I've noticed in some songs(namely by metallica or mastodon) where the drummer will continue the fill into the next bar and then just pick up the groove again on the first snare note(for a...

Re: Troubles.

I found out after the first song that trying to play note for note isn't worth it, its only gonna continue your frustration. Instead, try to learn the fills of the song, and listen to the drummers...

Re: Stupid Drum sizes?

I've always found that the 13 in. tom sounds a lot more like a timpani than my other toms. And its an oddball as far as pitch on my drumset.

Re: Metal Bass Drum Sound

haha, I thought i was crazy buying all these different beaters. I bought a second felt to go with the one when i did single bass. I bought a plastic/felt combo, and I filed down the ones that came...

Metal Bass Drum Sound

Ok, so my bandmates have been asking me to get that clicky double bass sound similar to the "city of evil" album by avenged sevenfold. I was wondering what are all the different ways of getting this...

Re: Too obsessed with drums?

I've tried several times to get the gravity blast(? i think that's what its...

Re: Dual Drummers- ever wondered why?

Imo, 1 person playing a trap set (lol) and 1 person playing latin percussion doesn't really add up to 2 drummers.
I saw in an article in DRUM!(i wish i had a subscription to modern drummer instead...

Re: Hitting ghost notes off-centre, bad habit?

Besides it being intentional to get a different sound out of the drum, is it intentional to get the "feel" for the dynamic? At first when i started practicing accent patterns, I felt like I had to...

Re: Hi-hat vs. ride

It depends on the riff a lot of the time. I play metal, and i use the bell heavily. A lot of metal drummers will go straight to the ride for solos.

Re: What is this type of fill called?

I call them quads, but most of the time i do: lh rh rf lf(which i guess seems weird to right handed people), or as right handers would : rh lh rf lf.

Lately, I've been adding an extra bd note,...

Re: Open handed + double bass

Just start playing how you normal play with one foot, and then let the other one follow. If you play right footed(even though you play left-handed with open hand), I suggest you lead with your right...

Re: Travis Barker

I used to listen to blink all the time, and mainly listened to the same song over and over again because of travis' drumming. He really adds a lot to blinks music. To me, its just basically a drum...
