Thanks guys for all the idea! After researching a lot, I think I'm either going to go with a pork pie kit for a little over 2. Or I am going to get a Ludwig classic maple.

I only say "only" because most high end kits are rediculously over priced. So I would like to keep it around that price.

I just got myself a ludwig black beauty 6.5x14. Easily one of my most favorite snares! As well as my pork pie cherry maple, or Simon Phillips signature "pageant".

I agree. I have seen tons of drummers that are great enough. But apparently from what I hear, the attitude has a lot to do with how his career is gonna go.
