Re: S-Hoops vs Yamaha Aluminium Cast Hoops

If S-HOOP made an aluminum version that'd be it.

Sound is subjective. The S in S-HOOP stands for 'safety', as in protecting your bearing edge, in that respect S-HOOPS stand alone.

The only...

Re: Vintage stuff. Period.

The CNC, high tolerance stuff being made today will someday be vintage. Only the real good stuff will make it into the future.

As an example, if you purchased something like a GURU kit crafted by...

Re: something about this just doesn't seem right

Really, is this so hard to figure out?

Re: Gigs that Require 1099 - Questions

Shouldn't be the case. Members should be mature enough to provide you with their SS numbers, or tax ID numbers. If you're going to play music for money you should have your biz somewhat together, as...

Re: Hilarious! Gretsch/DW

He can alert the GRUNT'ensteiner and have him delete it... oh wait, BERMUDA is of the DRUMMERWORLD constabulary.

It 'is' funny enough to post twice, if you don't speak Deutsch.

Re: DW Jazz Over Gretsch??

Big difference in the actual lacquer itself, GRETSCH blows nitrocellulose lacquer (at I think (can't remember) at 180 degrees), whereas DW uses polyester based lacquer.

Nitrocellulose will age...

Re: That Tama Rockstar snare for 50 bucks

Theoretically, 'if' all goes well. The more you fix stuff, the more you realize nothings easy, add to it the shop/store might not have the correct screw/part, what adds up is time, and time is...

Re: That Tama Rockstar snare for 50 bucks

We get what you're saying, but cheaper drums will not hold up to the rigors of gigging like an expensive drum (should). Expensive drums (are usually) a cry once purchase.

Cheap drums continue...

Re: Playing with people standing behind you

Creepy, no doubt that's why Mick Fleetwood requires a 20x20 stage (all to himself). Who wants to smell those ppl?

Re: Carmine Appice Lobbies For Led Zeppelin Drum Spot

Here here!

Cattle call, line em up. $500 per show plus expenses, burn em out.

'He that is first, shall not be last.' could be the motto.

Re: Carmine Appice Lobbies For Led Zeppelin Drum Spot

Not that impressive... Stewart in a lawsuit admitted to 'unconscious' plagiarism (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYOojpMqQSQ&t=1m15s), the court sided with Ben.

Have to admit, the drumming on...

Re: Drummerworld inventors

A pre tuned inflatable drum kit and a silent pump- which could be switched for quick (noisy) inflation. Wouldn't expect to take it to loud gigs, the sound would be more 'airy'.

Re: John Bonham: There Goes Another Rubber Tree Plant

I heard this story bf.

In defense of the plant, inconclusive as to the murder being by sound, or the even a murder for that matter. JB could've been pouring the last of his watered down drinks...

Re: DW aquires Gretsch and Latin Percussion...

Its all about the beans, 'if' KELLER is supplying 20' tubes to GRETSCH cheaper than it would cost DW to produce, Im sure DW will leave it alone.

A 'difference' for sure, and if it happens...

Re: Should I be upset? Would you be upset? Watch video. (Warning, big mistake in my playing)

Anyway the call out was what it was, the singer isn't professional, so what...
