Re: Going from e-kit back to a-kit advice.

Back to OP, practically any drum will cover your needs with new heads, though better drums will stay in tune better, anything in the intermediate to semi-pro level will hold up to gigging. ...

Re: How to bring energy into your playing?

Psych yourself up a bit, run around the block to get your heart rate up, drink caffeine, practice playing ahead of the beat.

Re: Slide technique questions

Re: Facebook-only gear companies

If your too cheap to spend the 2.99 it takes to rent a web address I seriously doubt any product they have would be well thought out and well made.

On a side note (expletive) facebook.

Re: Removing Lacquer finish from snare won't affect the sound, will it?

Removing the lacquer well enough to get a nice even stain is going to be very hard. I would just leave it as is, your snare doesn't need to match your kit anyways. It probably will change the sound...

Re: what was the first songs you learned on drums?

First whole song I learned was Topsy Part 2 by Cozy Cole, my drum teacher had me learn it. Was a lot of fun with lots of changes, but I couldn't play it today without reworking the whole thing.

Re: can you fatten up any snare?

Instant trick similar to Bermuda's that I stole from Benny Greb is throwing an old vinyl record on top. Takes away all the highs and mids leaving lows and snare sound.

Snare reso should...

Re: 1980 Tama Swingstar - price?

Realistically, 200-250 depending on condition, location, how quickly you want to sell. Maybe a bit more if the heads are in great shape. If you're lucky, in a prime area, and in perfect condition...

Re: playing with hands

Bonzo did it on Moby Dick and anytime I've tried it yes it hurts. Make sure your knuckles are off of the drum when you hit and just your fingers take the impact otherwise you'll injure yourself. ...

Re: Metronome App for Android and Blackberry

Re: I'm sure most of you have seen this but I had to share
