Re: Struggling with RSI after pad work
Agree about seeing a physio.

I guess this could be practising at low volume and slow tempos to...

Re: ...for the jazz cats ...
Congrats and commiserations, Andrew :)
Cool period Miles, MJQ, Brubeck should tame the savage beast. Maybe Herbie Mann in a pinch. In dire circumstances "sounds of the rainforest" type CDs are...

Re: Why I don't play V-Drums
I think there were about half a dozen different incarnations that were banned. No doubt the red curtain came down and things spiralled out of control there for a while. The lad's had a hard life.

Re: RIP Ray Manzarek
Fantastic legacy. Absolutely loved Ray's playing with The Doors. There was no one like him.
74 is a good innings for a rock musician and I think that's about how far I'd like to go. Some people...

Re: Why I don't play V-Drums
As others have said, there is no logical reason for that guy to play that hard. Crappy triggers will force you to play loud but even with cheapo e-kits after a certain point all he'd get is a...

Re: nice Charlie Watts video
Thanks Ant. Charlie's always a candid and interesting interviewee. The "If it ain't got that swing" interview is another good video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1_6z9oqet8

Re: SERIOUSLY, though ...
Yep, men definitely o'pause. I first developed a hypothesis when working on a hotline and it seemed that most of the 50-ish men on the phone were in a mildly psychotic self righteous rage and having...

Re: Cajon fatigue?
I like the idea of cajons - small, light, practical, portable, versatile. I tried out a fair few in shops and saw other people play them but didn't feel the love.
They sound effective with the...

Re: Thoughts on YouTube Covers?
You behave yourself, young Laurence. Think of the poor innocent impressionable young drummers who come to this forum - only to confront the demented ravings of a married middle aged man :)

I definitely enjoy seeing any playing by people I know. ) prefer ANYTHING to a drum cover but it's better than nothing. It's interesting, like seeing a photo and the face behind the words. Dogs...
