Re: Base Drum volume. HELP Please talk me down off this ledge.

Andy:

Thank you so much for your comments.

Could be my ideas here are more of a fun idea than a sensible idea.

Re: How do you know when to crash?

Some good answers here.

It depends on the music. I can tell you one thing, most of the time in live band settings I hear drummers use too many crashes.
Listen to your favorite popular...

Re: Base Drum volume. HELP Please talk me down off this ledge.

Thanks!

When you say smaller driver what exactly do you mean? Smaller speaker? Last night I played with a bass player who was using a cabinet with four 10 inch speakers.
He had plenty of low...

Re: Base Drum volume. HELP Please talk me down off this ledge.

Good point. I have all of the equipment needed. I just have to learn a little about the setup and adjustments. And then all I have to do is plug into the PA. I guess this would be the best idea...

Re: Base Drum volume. HELP Please talk me down off this ledge.

Oops. Sorry. And darn, I canít edit the title of the post.

Well I was just thinking why haul around a sub cabinet and a bass drum too.
And my other drums would stay unmiced. I just need a...

Re: remembering a tune

cemguvener, I'm a little confused by your question.

If your band calls out a song and you know, as you say, the tempo and the drum part, why do you need to know the melody?

If I need to...

Re: Recording a cover officially - our story so far

Fascinating! Two questions.
Does the artist that originally created the song get any royalties?
And, along with the modest fees is there any part of the agreement that would give these...

Re: Ludwig 7 ply mahogany/poplar vs 3-ply mahogany with re-rings

Just one more opinion if I may. If you are going to be playing low volume music in a band or only playing the drums at home, I think you will like the Club Dates. But if you will be playing louder...

Re: Ludwig 7 ply mahogany/poplar vs 3-ply mahogany with re-rings

I donít think there would be a great difference In the sound. With heads and tuning you could get them both to sound pretty much the same. The big difference would be in the tuning range. The Club...

Re: Drummerís Place In Band

Hey, this is a really good point. If the drummer hits one or two beats in the wrong place the song is really screwed up.
I mean really really screwed up. And the other players get lost really...

Re: Drummerís Place In Band

I was wondering when someone was going to mention this aspect of drumming. It is the attitude we drummers should all start out with. At least until we can contribute more than keeping time. If we...

Re: Decided to try this new look!

Good idea, but it depends on how deep the groove needs to be. Take the top hoop off, slip in the leg from the top and see how deep the grooves would need to be.

Hey wait a minute, what about...

Re: Buying old COB snare drums, what to look for?

And...
