Well honestly you can't really go wrong with Yamaha, but I would suggest looking at the other metals available. Steel is pretty simple in tone, but the Yamaha Brass and Copper shells are dynamic and...

Hey again, well cornelius all I can say is thank you! I tried out the DW collectors 10+6 configuration and loved it..... i did end up with a 14x5.5 though. I feel like I've wasted peoples time...

Thanks for all the help guys! I've looked into FVF and Highwood customs like you suggested. Highwood look to be cheaper and I'm quite temped by the 10mm shell thickness available.

I've looked at the Yamaha Musashi 13x6.5 before and have actually tried it, oak just isn't the wood for me, far too harsh for my taste. Thanks anyway. Altered_beast the custom idea...

I currently own a 14x3.5 Phosphor Bronze Black Panther and I am in the market for a new snare. I want it to be very different from my black panther and so am thinking a wood shell, 13 x (5.5 - 7")...
