I'm using a pretty early-era Starclassic and just replaced all the heads (EC2s over G1s). I can't seem to get a good sound, but I think we're past a tuning issue. There's not a lot of wobble, or...

I've got a professor of music this year who has a degree in music, a degree in philosophy, and his JD. He lectures on all those topics...

Gregg Bendian

Saw a clinic of his the other day at my school in Central New York. Not sure how well known he is in the drummer world, but he's toured with some original members of the Zappa band in "Project...

Re: Double bass trouble

Hi-
yes, i'm an (ex) fellow struggler.

Unfortunately, the answer is just a very tedious practicing process. But, I feel that this is true of many things musically, and you just have to mentally...

Re: New Drummer Seeking Advice

Left foot work and time keeping will speed up the double bass process as well. Obviously there are some exercises that explicitly help one or the other, but any playing you do with your left foot is...

Re: New Drummer Seeking Advice

Practice tons with a metronome! Don't be afraid to/frustrated with starting unbelievably slowly. If you play something often enough at a moderate speed, you can eventually learn to play it at...

Re: Gavin Harrison here!

The pattern during that section of Futile is four 32nd notes leading up to a down beat in a 6/8 feel (until there is another snare/hi hat beat claiming a different time signature), whereas Bleed is...

Wondering how to go about getting in touch with you regarding a clinic and your fees, sponsors, etc?

Thanks a lot!

I do use a regular round seat by DW, so this could be the problem. I'll have to look into a Roc-n-Soc or something with a back rest.

Re: Double Bass Pain

I have been playing for about 6 years, but up until I started majoring in music in school, I never really put the time into practicing or learning anything... I was one of those ignorant...

Double Bass Pain

I find that when I play double bass for any extended period of time, I start to experience pain or tension in my thighs right above my knee. Is this natural and just an endurance problem or am I...
